While many of our marsh ducks are found from coast to coast, the Cinnamon Teal is strictly western. Unique among our northern dabbling ducks, this teal also has nesting populations in South America. A close relative of Blue-winged Teal (and sometimes hybridizing with it), the Cinnamon Teal has a slightly larger bill, better developed for straining food items out of the water. In some ways this species seems intermediate between Blue-winged Teal and Northern Shoveler.

Our heads are larger than lifesize yet might look best on the 11" long Herters model 63 puddler body rather than the 16" long model 72.

CinnamonTeal heads are only offered in the standard pose. Decoy is sized for a 11 to 12" size 63 puddler decoy.

Attaching the heads are easy, we include instructions with each purchase. We like to attach our heads with a 1/4" X 20 T-nut. The machine thread matches factory eye bolts as supplied by decoy companies such as Herters and Restle. (T-nut not included)

Our threaded inserts make it easy to attached these replacement decoy heads to various decoy bodies. Outside is course thread, inside is a 1/4-20" thread to accept a standard 1/4" eye bolt. Please click here to purchase threaded inserts.

Also can be attached with lags screws or other attachment method such as drilling the tap hole in the decoy head about 1/32" less than eyebolt size and thread directly into the wooden head. The basswood will accept the threads and glue can be added for permanent attachment.
